Trek across the Continental Divide following an ancient pilgrimage route to the ceremonial center of Chavin de Huantar. Built by a the Chavin culture millennia before the rise of the Inca, this fascinating archaeological complex includes intricate subterranean channels used to manipulate water, light, and sound to create fantastical religious experiences. Devotees would travel from as far away as the Amazon rainforest and the coastal deserts, we follow in their footsteps across Peru's highest mountain range, marveling at the forgotten shrines and native forests along the route.
